Background:
I have been involved with Uzbekistan since the cold war, beginning with the historic Seattle-Tashkent Sister City relationship. After the Soviet Union dissolved, I served as Seattle-Tashkent President for nine years, and began my service as H.C.G. in June, 2002. My work with Uzbekistan has included, but are not limited to, organizing and leading delegations over a wide range of activities including medicine, rule of law, domestic violence, humanitarian, education (K-12, college and graduate levels for universities), business, tourism, environment, democracy, market development and global warming. I served as liaison for the Uzbek Minister of Trade at the WTO Ministerial at Seattle, in November, 1999. I have worked with every Uzbek Ambassador to the United States, and every US Ambassador to independent Uzbekistan.
